Concepts Learned

My definition for SUSTAINABILTY is trying to make things more energy efficient, for example instead of leaving the lights on in the classroom or your home or somewhere, you could turn them off to save energy.

FREEGANS are people who chose to reuse other people's stuff that they don't want anymore instead of buying new stuff. An example of a freegan would be someone who would look through the trash for a new pair of shoes or some new pants or something they need.

STEWARDSHIP is being responsible for other people who might not be responsible. An example would be throwing someone's trash away when they would just leave it there.

BIOMIMICRY: A conscious strategy by designers to observe and learn principles of design from nature. An example would be a scienctist.

An ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT is what humans do to the earth that leaves something behind. For example when we cut down tree's and forests we leave behind the Co2 when we burn the forest.

The OVERSHOT is when data takes a dramatic move increseingly, for example the chart for the temperature of the earth incresed alot.

What does this equation mean?
area x bioproduction = SUPPLY---------- That shows what the world's doing for our Supply
population x consumption per person x footprint intesisty = ecological footprint-------------That shows what we do for demand

What is the Significance of the year 1987?
- that is the first year we started demanding more from the earth

What happened on October 6, 2007?
Is when we used up all the resorces of the earth

I like the way you chose to define sustainability. You take direct responsibility for working towards making the earth more sustainable and efficient. Well done!
